Podziemska powers Wyoming past Colorado State
Feb 28, 2008 - 7:01 AM LARAMIE, Wyoming (Ticker) -- Justyna Podziemska scored 19 points to lead No. 25 Wyoming to a 68-46 drubbing against Colorado State on Wednesday.Podziemska made 8-of-13 shots from the field and grabbed seven rebounds while Aubrey Vandiver contributed 17 points and hit 4-of-5 3-pointers for Wyoming.
The Cowgirls (23-4, 11-3 Mountain West) hit 3-pointers on three consecutive possessions to cap a 25-8 run midway through the first half. Wyoming forged a 32-14 halftime lead on the strength of 44 percent shooting in the opening half.
Juanise Cornell scored 12 points and was the only player in double-figures for Colorado State (2-24, 0-13 MWC), which held a 38-29 advantage in rebounds but failed to cool Wyoming's hot shooting.
