LSU routs Arkansas to clinch share of SEC title
Feb 29, 2008 - 6:07 AM BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Quianna Chaney scored 20 points as No. 6 Louisiana State clinched at least a share of the Southeastern Conference regular-season title with an 83-46 drubbing against Arkansas on Thursday night.Chaney made 6-of-9 shots from beyond the 3-point arc and Sylvia Fowles contributed 11 points and seven rebounds for the Tigers (24-4, 13-0), who claimed the No. 1 seed in next week's SEC tournament in Nashville.
LSU led the entire game and took advantage of its superior talent, outscoring Arkansas, 40-16, in the paint and notching 37 points off 24 turnovers.
Sarah Pfeifer scored 15 points and Ayana Brereton added 14 for Arkansas (17-11, 2-11), which suffered its seventh consecutive setback.
