Maryland tops NC State in regular-season finale
Mar 2, 2008 - 8:43 PM RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Laura Harper scored 21 points and Crystal Langhorne had 20 as fifth-ranked Maryland wrapped up the regular season with a 76-64 victory over North Carolina State in the Atlantic Coast Conference on Sunday.Kristi Toliver had 13 points and Marissa Coleman chipped in 11 for the Terrapins (29-2, 13-1 ACC), who will carry a seven-game winning streak into the league's postseason tournament, which starts on Thursday.
Harper and Langhorne grabbed 11 rebounds each and Coleman added 10 as Maryland finished with a 46-35 advantage on the boards.
Holding the Wolfpack to 33 percent shooting in the first half, the Terrapins recorded a 38-26 lead at the break. The advantage grew to as many as 19 points in the second half.
Nikitta Gartrell scored 19 points and Shayla Fields added 17 and six assists for North Carolina State (18-11, 6-8).
