Fowles, LSU cruise past Mississippi State
Mar 2, 2008 - 11:44 PM STARKVILLE, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Sylvia Fowles had 20 points and 12 rebounds as sixth-ranked Louisiana State routed Mississippi State, 64-49, in a Southeastern Conference game Sunday afternoon.Quianna Chaney scored 18 points for the Tigers (25-4, 14-0 SEC), who outscored the Bulldogs, 30-18, in the first half en route to remaining undefeated in conference play.
Fowles shot 10-of-12 from the field and Chaney was 7-of-13 from the floor for LSU, which also outscored Mississippi State, 36-22, in the paint.
Alexis Rack and Donnisha Tate netted 11 points apiece for the Bulldogs (16-13, 4-10), who shot just 37 percent (20-of-54) from the field.
