Larkins' double-double lifts UNC to ACC semis
Mar 8, 2008 - 1:13 AM GREENSBORO, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Erlana Larkins scored 25 points on 10-of-13 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds Friday as second-ranked North Carolina defeated Clemson, 97-77, in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.All five starters scored in double figures for the Tar Heels (28-2), who overcame committing 20 turnovers by shooting 51 percent (35-of-69) from the field.
LaToya Pringle finished with 16 points and Heather Claytor, Cetera DeGraffenreid and Rashanda McCants each added 12 for North Carolina, which is the tournament's top seed.
D'Lesha Lloyd collected 20 points and 10 rebounds and Lele Hardy had 16 points, six assists and four steals for the ninth-seeded Tigers, who shot 40 percent (31-of-78).
