Bolte helps Iowa State women advance

Mar 22, 2008 - 8:57 PM DES MOINES, Iowa (Ticker) -- Kelsey Bolte scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds as seventh-seeded Iowa State defeated No. 10 Georgia Tech, 58-55, on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Greensboro Regional.

Bolte connected on 7-of-13 shots from the field, including 5-of-8 on 3-pointers, and Amanda Nisleit finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Cyclones (21-12), who overcame committing 18 turnovers by shooting 45 percent (21-of-47).

Jocelyn Anderson had 12 points with five blocks for Iowa State, which will face Rutgers in the second round.

Jill Ingram scored 21 points and made five steals and Jacqua Williams added 18 points and eight rebounds for the Yellow Jackets (22-10), who have lost three of their last four contests.
