Gant, Texas A&M roll into second round

Mar 22, 2008 - 9:06 PM BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Danielle Gant scored 18 points and Morenike Atunrase came off the bench to lead the way with 19 as second-seeded Texas A&M rolled to a 91-52 victory over 15th-seeded Texas-San Antonio in Oklahoma City Regional action Saturday.

Gant knocked down 8-of-11 shots in just 19 minutes before the Aggies' starters got a rest in the second half. Atunrase took over the scoring load, knocking down 4-of-5 shots from the arc.

Texas A&M (27-7) shot 50 percent (34-of-68) in the contest and forced 30 turnovers. The Aggies also dominated the inside, enjoying a 42-27 rebounding advantage.

Monica Gibbs scored 14 points and pulled down eight boards to lead Texas-San Antonio (23-10). The Southland Conference champions shot just 36 percent (17-of-47).
