Fowles, LSU roll past Jackson State
Mar 23, 2008 - 4:55 AM BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Sylvia Fowles scored 16 points to lead second-seeded Louisiana State to a 66-32 rout of Jackson State in the first round of the New Orleans Regional on Saturday.Fowles also had seven rebounds and six steals for the Tigers (28-5), who raced to a 33-11 halftime lead over the No. 15 seed.
Mesha Williams and Quianna Chaney scored 14 and 12 points, respectively, for LSU, which will meet seventh-seeded Marist on Monday night.
Gabrielle Jones had seven points to lead Jackson State (18-14), which committed 25 turnovers and was outrebounded, 45-29.
