Fast start fuels UNC rout over Bucknell
Mar 24, 2008 - 5:17 AM NORFOLK, Virginia (Ticker) -- LaToya Pringle led five players in double figures with 19 points and Rashanda McCants added 15 and eight rebounds as top-seeded North Carolina cruised past 16th-seeded Bucknell, 85-50, in a first-round matchup out of the New Orleans Region on Sunday.The Tar Heels (31-2) scored the game's first 16 points en route to a 48-25 halftime advantage.
Bucknell (16-16) never got any closer during the second half and trailed by as many as 80-38 with 5:51 remaining.
The Bison shot just 27 percent (20-of-75) from the floor, including 4-of-17 from the arc.
North Carolina will face No. 8 seed Georgia in the second round Tuesday night.
