Paris' double-double helps Oklahoma survive
Mar 23, 2008 - 10:42 PM WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana (Ticker) -- Courtney Paris extended her double-double streak to 91 games Sunday as fourth-seeded Oklahoma held on for a 69-61 triumph over No. 13 Illinois State in a first-round matchup in the NCAA Tournament Oklahoma City Regional.Courtney Paris finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds and Ashley Paris added 13 points on 6-of-13 shooting for the Sooners (22-8), who forced 18 turnovers and blocked seven shots.
Amanda Thompson had nine points, eight rebounds and four blocks for Oklahoma, which will face fifth seed Notre Dame in the next round.
Kristi Cirone scored 22 points for the Red Birds (26-7), who had a four-game winning streak snapped.
