Langhorne, top-seeded Maryland pull past Coppin State
Mar 23, 2008 - 9:53 PM COLLEGE PARK, Maryland (Ticker) -- Crystal Langhorne had 25 points and 12 rebounds as top-seeded Maryland pulled away from 16th-seeded Coppin State, 80-66, in a first-round matchup out of the Spokane Regional on Sunday.Marissa Coleman had 17 points and seven rebounds for the Terrapins (31-3), who will take on Nebraska in the second round on Tuesday.
The Eagles (22-12) played Maryland tough throughout the first half and only trailed, 40-35, at the break. But Maryland used a 10-0 run early in the second half to take a 55-41 advantage with 13:56 left to play, and the Terrapins held an 18-point advantage with 8:37 remaining.
Rashida Suber scored 25 points and Shalamar Oakley had 20, eight rebounds and five assists to lead Coppin State, which was outrebounded, 42-26.
