Zellous leads Pittsburgh to regional semis

Mar 25, 2008 - 1:56 AM SPOKANE, Washington (Ticker) -- Shavonte Zellous scored 19 points and Marcedes Walker added 17 and nine rebounds as No. 6 Pittsburgh upset third-seeded Baylor, 67-59, in the NCAA Tournament's second round of the Spokane Region on Monday night.

Mallorie Winn scored 12 points for the Panthers (24-10), who will play the winner of No. 2 Stanford and No. 7 Texas-El Paso in the regional semifinals.

Trailing by two points at halftime, Pittsburgh outscored Baylor, 41-31, in the second half to secure the win.

Zellous shot 7-of-13 from the field while Walker and Winn combined to shoot 9-of-22 for the Panthers, who were victorious despite shooting just 37.5 percent (24-of-59) from the field.

Danielle Wilson scored 15 points for the Bears (25-7), who shot just 32 percent (18-of-59).
