LSU rolls into regional final
Mar 29, 2008 - 9:22 PM NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- Erica White paced four players in double figures with 18 points as No. 2 seed Louisiana State coasted to a 67-52 victory over third-seed Oklahoma State in the semifinals of the New Orleans Regional on Saturday.White added seven rebounds and four assists for the Tigers (30-5), who advanced to Monday's regional final against top seed North Carolina, which held off Louisville, 78-74, earlier Saturday.
LSU has reached the Final Four in each of the last four years.
Oklahoma State, which was making only its second "Sweet 16" appearance and first since 1996, could not solve LSU's defense. The Cowgirls shot just 27.5 percent (19-of-69) from the field.
Andrea Riley scored 26 points for Oklahoma State but no other player had more than eight points.
At one point early in the second half, Riley was the only player to make a field goal for Oklahoma State, as she scored 20 of the Cowboys' first 25 points.
RaShanta LeBlanc scored 13 points for LSU, which enjoyed a decided home-court advantage at the New Orleans Arena. Sylvia Fowles and Quianna Chaney added 12 and 10, respectively, for the Tigers.
