Langhorne leads Maryland a step closer to Final Four

Mar 30, 2008 - 5:45 AM SPOKANE, Washington (Ticker) -- Crystal Langhorne scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Maryland continued its quest to return to the Final Four, posting an 80-66 victory over Vanderbilt in the regional semifinals on Saturday.

The top seed in the Spokane Regional, the Terrapins (33-3) are looking to get back to the national semifinals for the first time since 2006, when they claimed their first and only national championship. Maryland will face No. 2 Stanford, a 72-53 winner over Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Langhorne finished 12-of-18 from the field and Marissa Coleman scored 19 points for Maryland, which shot 54.5 percent (18-of-33) in the first half to take a 44-29 lead at the half.

The Terrapins extended the lead to 21 points midway through the second half before cruising to the win.

Christina Wirth had 13 points and Jessica Mooney added 11 for Vanderbilt (25-9), which went 5-of-22 on 3-pointers.
