Johnson anchors Arizona State rout of Nicholls State
Nov 16, 2006 - 4:24 AM TEMPE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Aubree Johnson scored 16 points and Dymond Simon added 15 as No. 11 Arizona State took control early, paving the way for a 91-46 victory over Nicholls State in a non-conference matchup.Johnson pulled down seven boards and Kirsten Thompson finished with 14 and 15 rebounds while making 7-of-12 shots for the Sun Devils (4-0), who netted 51 percent (19-of-37) of their attempts in the opening half, building a decisive 48-18 cushion.
Danielle Orsillo chipped in 10 points for Arizona State, which dominated in the rebounding department, 53-22, and assist category, 27-4.
Jamie Octave scored 16 points and Dominique Washington added 14 for the Lady Colonels (0-2), who managed to convert just 29 percent (16-of-56) of their shots.
