Williams, Vanderbilt roll to easy win
Nov 21, 2006 - 4:38 AM NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Caroline Williams scored 18 points to lead six players in double figures as No. 15 Vanderbilt cruised to a 102-75 triumph against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.Williams made 6-of-9 shots from the field, including four 3-pointers, to lead the balanced attack for the Commodores (4-0), who shot 60 percent (39-of-65) as a team.
Carla Thomas scored 16 points, Amy Malo 13, Liz Sherwood 12 and Christina Wirth and Amber Norton 10 apiece for Vanderbilt, which had 27 assists on 39 baskets and held a 32-27 advantage on the boards.
Nicole Duncan scored 23 points and Sarah Davidson added 21 for Corpus Christi (0-4), which shot 46 percent (27-of-59) and committed 22 turnovers.
