Top-ranked Maryland rolls over Gardner-Webb
Nov 25, 2006 - 5:08 AM GRAND BAHAMA ISLAND (Ticker) -- Maryland made quick work out of Gardner-Webb.Marissa Coleman scored 18 points and Crystal Langhorne added 16 as the top-ranked Terrapins breezed to an 83-41 win over the Bulldogs in the Junkanoo Jam.
Maryland (6-0) scored the first 13 points and bolted to a 24-2 lead en route to a 45-10 advantage at halftime.
The Terps shot 61 percent (19-of-31) in the opening 20 minutes and finished at 54 percent for the game (33-of-61).
Laura Harper scored 14 points and Shay Doron added 10 for Maryland, which plays Mississippi on Saturday.
Candyse Kelly scored 15 points to lead Gardner-Webb (2-3), which was limited to 24 percent shooting (14-of-58) and was outrebounded, 49-27.
