Ohio State allows nine first-half points, rolls past Longwood
Dec 1, 2006 - 2:55 AM COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- Ohio State surrendered only nine points in the first half en route to a 68-33 rout of Longwood.Brandie Hoskins and Marscilla Packer scored 15 points apiece for the sixth-ranked Lady Buckeyes (6-0), who shot 56 percent (18-of-32) in the first half en route to a 41-9 advantage at intermission.
Longwood (4-4) shot only 22 percent (4-of-18) in the opening 20 minutes and 30 percent (15-of-50) overall. The Lancers also committed 21 turnovers in losing for the fourth time in five games.
Jessica Davenport scored 12 points and Star Allen added 11 for Ohio State, which finished at 54 percent (28-of-52) shooting.
Anna Steg led Longwood with eight points and 13 rebounds.
