Louisville remains unbeaten despite 21 turnovers
Dec 9, 2006 - 11:11 PM LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (Ticker) -- Angel McCoughtry made sure that a big first half held up.McCoughtry scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead No. 16 Louisville to a 70-58 victory over Western Kentucky.
Racing out to a 32-18 lead at intermission, the Cardinals (9-0) needed to fend off a second-half rally to remain unbeaten after finishing with 21 turnovers. It was the third straight game with at least 20 giveaways for Louisville.
Yuliya Tokova had 13 points and nine rebounds and Patrika Barlow scored 11 for Louisville, which shot 46 percent (26-of-56) and held a 42-36 advantage on the boards.
Crystal Kelly scored 20 points for the Hilltoppers (5-3), who managed to cut their 14-point deficit at the break to 41-36 midway through the second before slipping behind once again.
