Latta leads Tar Heels to romp over Western Carolina
Dec 10, 2006 - 9:46 PM CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Ivory Latta and North Carolina had little trouble remaining perfect.Latta scored 19 points and the second-ranked Tar Heels never trailed en route to an 87-58 victory over Western Carolina.
North Carolina (10-0) led by as many as 35 points and had four players in double figures led by Latta, who was 6-of-11 from the field and added six assists.
Rashanda McCants scored 16 points, Erlana Larkins had 13 and Camille Little added 12 for the Tar Heels, who led, 48-25, at the half.
Lauren Powell scored 13 points and Ashley Pellom had 12 for Western Carolina (5-5), which shot 34 percent (23-of-67) from the field and committed 20 turnovers.
