Central Michigan tops Western Michigan, 34-23

Oct 18, 2009 - 12:51 AM KALAMAZOO, Mich.(AP) -- Dan LeFevour threw for two touchdowns and ran for one more Saturday to lead Central Michigan to a 34-23 win over rival Western Michigan.

LeFevour went 18 for 30 for 238 yards and had the second-most rushing yards of the game with 76.

Despite the win, CMU (6-1, 4-0 Mid-American Conference) was outgunned by WMU (3-4, 2-2) quarterback Tim Hiller, who broke multiple passing records.

Hiller threw his 88th and 89th career TDs to break a school record of 87 held since 1999 by Tim Lester. He also set the school's career completions record with his 879th.

The QB went 40 for 66 and threw for 410 yards. WMU's kicker John Potter had three field goals.

CMU was helped to its win by kicker Andrew Aguila, who hit two field goals, and running back Bryan Schroeder, who ran in for a TD from 2 yards.
