Brandon Kaufman pulled in a 32-yard touchdown catch to give the Eagles (1-1) a 35-25 lead midway through the fourth quarter.

Central Washington (1-2) was driving until a pass from Ryan Robertson went through the hands of Chris Smith and fell into the lap of Paul Ena for an interception.

After a three-and-out, Central Washington took the ball with 1:26 to play and two timeouts, but a fourth-down pass was batted down by Tyler Jolley to preserve the win.
