San Diego State shuts down Nicholls State 47-0

Sep 5, 2010 - 3:46 AM SAN DIEGO(AP) -- Ryan Lindley threw for 303 yards and two touchdowns as San Diego State opened its season with a 47-0 victory over Nicholls State on Saturday night.

Lindley, who completed 17-of-26 passes, threw two TDs, 71 and 18 yards, to DeMarco Sampson.

Sampson caught seven passes for 179 yards, a school record for an opening game.

The Aztecs gained 218 yards on the ground and scored four rushing touchdowns, two by Davon Brown and one each by Walter Kazee and Ronnie Hillman.

Kazee rushed for 74 yards while Brown and Hillman each rushed 65 yards.

San Diego State finished with 531 yards while Nicholls State picked up 171.

Abel Perez kicked two field goals.

It marked the first meeting between the schools.
