Coastal Carolina beats Delaware State 34-14

Sep 26, 2010 - 2:36 AM CONWAY, S.C.(AP) -- Brandon Whitley caught two touchdown passes and Tarvorris Jolly returned a blocked field goal for another score as Coastal Carolina defeated Delaware State 34-14 on Saturday night.

Whitley caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Zach MacDowall and scored again on a 24-yard pass from wide receiver Dushawn Davis.

Delaware State (0-3) drove to the Coastal Carolina 1 and attempted a field goal on fourth-and-goal, but Josh Norman blocked it. Jolly recovered on the 6 and returned it 94 yards for his first career touchdown.

The Chanticleers (1-3) led 31-0 at the half and didn't allow the Hornets (0-3) to score until Anthony Glaud's 1-yard touchdown run with 1:58 left.

Delaware State then recovered an onside kick, and Glaud threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Donnell Dixon with 49 seconds left.
