Tennessee Tech beats Tennessee State 21-10

Oct 24, 2010 - 2:39 AM NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tre Lamb threw three touchdown passes as Tennessee Tech defeated Tennessee State 21-10 on Saturday night.

The Golden Eagles (4-4, 3-2 Ohio Valley Conference) trailed 3-0 in the first quarter after a 21-yard field goal by Tennessee State's Jamin Godfrey.

Lamb's 22-yard touchdown pass to Tim Benford gave Tennessee Tech a 7-3 lead with 12:29 left in the second quarter.

The Tigers (3-5, 0-4) took a 10-7 lead 1:03 before halftime on Jeremy Perry's 84-yard touchdown pass to Calvin McNairl.

The Golden Eagles took the ensuing kickoff and marched 51 yards in 51 seconds before Lamb's 6-yard touchdown pass to Zack Ziegler gave Tennessee Tech a 14-10 halftime lead.

Lamb's third touchdown came on a 3-yard pass to Benford with 3:01 left in the third quarter.

McNairl had 131 yards receiving for the Tigers, who outgained the Golden Eagles 361 yards to 200.
