Indiana State beats South Dakota State 41-30

Oct 31, 2010 - 12:13 AM TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) -- Darrius Gates ran for three touchdowns and 143 yards to lift Indiana State to a 41-30 victory over South Dakota State on Saturday.

Gates also caught a pair of touchdown throws from Ronnie Fouch, who went 17 for 24 for 284 yards as the Sycamores (5-3, 3-2 Missouri Valley) led the entire way.

The Jackrabbits (3-5, 3-3) came within three points at 20-17 just before halftime after Kyle Minett ran in for a touchdown and Thomas O'Brien connected with Colin Cochart for another, both in the second quarter.

Minett led the game in rushing with 149 yards. He also ran for two more touchdowns in the second half.

It wasn't enough to keep up with Indiana State, which scored three touchdowns to widen the lead in the second half including a scoring run in the third quarter by Ben Obaseki.
