Alabama State defeats Alabama A&M 31-10

Oct 31, 2010 - 12:35 AM BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- Donovan Masline had two interceptions, including a 40-yard return for a touchdown, in Alabama State's 31-10 win over Alabama A&M on Saturday.

Masline finished with 103 of the Hornets' 115 interception return yards.

Alabama State (5-3, 4-3 Southwestern Athletic Conference) finished with three interceptions and held the Bulldogs (2-6, 1-5) to 210 yards.

The Hornets jumped out to a 17-0 lead starting with Andrew Lyons 41-yard field goal. Masline then had his first interception to set up Devin Dominguez's 18-yard TD pass to T.C. McWilliams with 4 seconds left in the second quarter to cap a 31-yard, four-play drive.

Dominguez's 1-yard touchdown run capped the spurt with 6:28 left in the first half.

Andrew Pitts had 122 yards and a touchdown on six carries for the Hornets.

Kadelius Lacey led the Bulldogs with 80 yards on 18 carries.
