National shuts out American at Collegiate Bowl
Jan 18, 2015 - 12:32 AM Carson, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Terell Watson had a rushing touchdown as National defeated American 17-0 in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl All-Star game.Watson totaled 55 yards on nine carries and Channing Fugate added a touchdown on the ground for National, which limited American to just 179 total yards.
Marcus Murphy had 47 yards on just three carries for American, while Cole Stoudt completed 7-of-8 passes for 48 yards .
The first touchdown came when Jameill Showers fumbled on a carry for National, but Watson picked the ball up and ran it in for a 7-0 lead 7 1/2 minutes into the game.
National's next score came late in the second quarter on a 33-yard field goal from Jeremiah Detmer that capped a 12-play, 44-yard drive.
Fugate's 1-yard touchdown with just over six minutes to play in the third quarter gave National a 17-0 lead.
