Eastern Kentucky beats Tennessee Tech 17-7

Sep 20, 2009 - 3:07 AM RICHMOND, Ky.(AP) -- Andre Evans had a 54-yard interception return for a touchdown late in the third quarter to lift Eastern Kentucky to a 17-7 win over Tennessee Tech on Saturday night.

Eastern Kentucky (1-1), the defending Ohio Valley Conference champion, scored 17 unanswered points in the win.

Tennessee Tech's Tremaine Hudson scored on a 6-yard run with 11:43 left in the first quarter for the Golden Eagles (1-1).

H.B. Banjoman scored the Colonels' final touchdown on a 13-yard run with 13:36 left in the game.

T.J. Pryor was 12 of 19 for 163 yards and C.J. Walker rushed for 74 yards on 19 carries for Eastern Kentucky.

Logan O'Connor put the Colonels on the board with a 36-yard field goal with 1:21 left in the second quarter.

Sweeney was 11 of 26 for 97 yards and an interception for the Golden Eagles.
