Southeastern Louisiana upends Texas State 51-50

Oct 11, 2009 - 12:23 AM SAN MARCOS, Texas(AP) -- Brian Babin threw for 285 yards and four touchdowns as Southeastern Louisiana outlasted Texas State 51-50 in overtime at Jim Wacker Field on Saturday.

Texas State led 44-20 with 11:44 left in regulation time, but Southeastern Louisiana forced the game into OT with three-straight touchdowns, the final one coming on running back Jasper Ducksworth's 1-yard dive over the pile with 34 seconds left on the clock.

The Lions (3-2 overall, 1-0 in the Southland Conference) took the first possession in the extra period and Ducksworth scored on a 2-yard run. Kicker Jeff Turner's extra point gave Southeastern Louisiana a 55-44 lead.

Texas State (2-3, 0-1)answered when Bradley George hit Da'Marcus Griggs for a 12-yard touchdown pass in the right back corner of the end zone, but kicker Justin Garelick missed the extra point, handing the victory to the Lions.

Texas State's Bradley George completed 30 of 46 passes for 337 yards and two touchdowns.
