Late TD pass gives Drake win over San Diego, 21-14

Oct 18, 2009 - 12:10 AM SAN DIEGO(AP) -- Michael Piatkowski hit Stephen Platek with a 20-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to give Drake a 21-14 win over San Diego on Saturday.

Tom Kostek's 36-yard run set up the winning score that came with 4 minutes 23 seconds to play. Platek also scored on the Bulldogs' first possession of the game on a 1-yard run.

Drake (5-1, 3-0 Pioneer Football League), which had a 14-7 halftime lead, also got a 30-yard touchdown pass from Piatkowski to Patrick Cashmore.

Cashmore rushed for 127 yards on 18 carries.

Sam Scudellari threw for 317 yards for San Diego (3-3, 2-2). He connected with Kyle Warren on touchdown passes of 37 and 30 yards.
