Cent. Conn. State beats St. Francis 14-13

Nov 21, 2009 - 8:41 PM LORETTO, Pa.(AP) -- Eric Richardson scored on 2-yard run with 2:21 left in the game to help Central Connecticut State defeat St. Francis (Pa.) 14-13 and clinch the Northeast Conference championship on Saturday.

It is the first outright NEC title for the Blue Devils (9-2, 7-1), who clinched a berth in the Gridiron Classic, which will be played against the Pioneer League champion on Dec. 5.

St. Francis (2-9, 1-7) took a 13-7 lead on Kyle Harbridge's 31-yard run with 12:28 left in the game, capping a 68-yard drive. The Red Flash missed the extra point.

The Blue Devils drove 75 yards in seven plays, tying the game on Richardson's 2-yard run. Wesley Baker added the extra point for the winning margin.

Aubrey Norris was 11-for-15 for 177 yards and a 46-yard pass to Josue Paul for Central Connecticut State's first touchdown.

Harbridge finished with 95 yards on 23 carries.
