Louisville visits Middle Tennessee on Friday
Oct 3, 2006 - 6:53 PM No. 8 Louisville (4-0) at Middle Tenn (3-2), 8:00 pm EDTNASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) - Eighth-ranked Louisville concludes its non-conference schedule Friday when it takes on Middle Tennessee in Nashville.
The Cardinals (4-0) will look to avoid further injuries in the contest, having already lost starting running back Michael Bush for the season to a broken leg and star quarterback Brian Brohm for several weeks to a sprained thumb ligament.
Louisville, which is searching for its first 5-0 start under coach Bobby Petrino, has not played since a 24-6 victory at Kansas State on September 23.
Filling in for Brohm, Hunter Cantwell passed for 173 yards, a touchdown and an interception for the Cardinals, who also lost three fumbles.
Middle Tennessee (3-2) improved to 2-0 in the Sun Belt Conference with a 35-0 road blanking of North Texas on Saturday.
Eugene Gross ran for two touchdowns for the Blue Raiders, who had been thumped by Oklahoma the previous week, 59-0.
This will be the first meeting between the schools.
