Alabama State beats Mississippi Valley State 34-6

Sep 5, 2010 - 4:37 AM MONTGOMERY, Ala.(AP) -- Devin Dominguez threw three touchdown passes and Alabama State defeated Mississippi Valley State 34-6 Saturday night in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game, the season opener for both teams.

Dominguez was 20-for-29 for 261 yards and three touchdowns, two to T.C. McWilliams, as the Bulldogs took a 24-0 lead. They added a 35-yard field goal by Andrew Lyons and a touchdown on a 7-yard run by Andrew Pitts in the second half.

McWilliams had seven receptions for 142 yards. Nick Andrews also had a 21-yard touchdown catch.

Mississippi Valley State, playing its first game under coach Karl Morgan, scored on field goals of 40 and 43 yards by Carlos Sanchez. The Delta Devils were held to 86 yards rushing on 25 carries.
