QB Brown leads Liberty past Ball State 27-23

Sep 12, 2010 - 3:04 AM MUNCIE, Ind.(AP) -- Mike Brown threw for two touchdowns and rushed for a third as Liberty rallied to defeat Ball State 27-23 Saturday night.

Brown scored on a 1-yard keeper with 4:55 to play, and the Flames (2-0) held on from there.

The Cardinals (1-1) reached Liberty's 26-yard line on the ensuing possession but fumbled on fourth down.

Chris Summers caught 11 passes for 146 yards and two TDs for the Flames.

Aaron Mershman scored Ball State's only offensive touchdown - a 15-yard pass from Keith Wenning - and Charlie Todd scored on a 36-yard interception return. Ian McGarvey added three field goals.

Brown finished 24 of 38 for 276 yards and led Liberty with 87 rushing yards. SirChauncey Holloway added a rushing TD.
