North Dakota defeats Northeastern State 55-14

Sep 19, 2010 - 12:48 AM GRAND FORKS, N.D.(AP) -- Josh Murray ran for 131 yards and a touchdown and Greg Hardin had rushing and receiving scores as North Dakota beat Northeastern State 55-14 on Saturday.

Jake Landry completed 10 of 14 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown for the Fighting Sioux (1-2).

Hardin, a redshirt freshman receiver, caught a 19-yard TD pass and took a handoff 63 yards to the end zone as North Dakota built a 48-0 lead after three quarters against Northeastern State (1-2), a Division II school in Tahlequah, Okla.

Ben Randle and Edward Victorian had late TDs for the Riverhawks (1-2).

The contest was part of the 45th annual Potato Bowl USA, a week-long festival in the Red River Valley that includes a North Dakota home game and what is billed as the world's largest french-fry feed. On Thursday, 4,110 pounds of french fries were served, short of the record 4,890 pounds set two years ago.
