Dieker leads S. Illinois past Illinois State 38-17

Oct 2, 2010 - 9:45 PM NORMAL, Ill. (AP) -- Chris Dieker threw one touchdown and rushed for another to lead Southern Illinois past Illinois State 38-17 Saturday.

Shariff Harris rushed for 163 yards and two touchdowns for the Salukis (2-3, 1-1, Missouri Valley).

Kyle Dougherty also kicked a field goal, and Luke Thuston scored on a punt return.

Dieker finished with 78 yards passing and 91 yards rushing.

Matt Brown passed for 149 yards and one touchdown for the Redbirds (3-2, 2-1). Steven Fetzer also kicked a field goal, and Mike Hiestand scored on a punt return.

The Salukis finished with 342 yards rushing and 78 yards passing, while the Redbirds had 69 yards rushing and 149 yards passing.
