Indiana State runs past Quincy 56-22

Oct 3, 2010 - 1:16 AM TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) -- Ronnie Fouch threw four touchdown passes and Darrius Gates ran for three scores as Indiana State routed Quincy 56-22 on Saturday.

The Sycamores (2-2) avenged a 26-20 overtime loss last season to NAIA member Quincy.

Gates ran for touchdowns of 31 and 10 yards in the first quarter, and after the Hawks (0-5) scored on a pass from Bobby Brienneisen to Justin Dickens, the Sycamores scored four touchdowns in the second quarter for a 42-6 halftime lead.

Fouch connected with Justin Hilton for touchdowns of 40 and 72 yards to break the game open. Fouch finished 15 of 17 for 231 yards and four TDs, while Hilton had 131 receiving yards.

Gates had 139 yards on 17 carries, and Shakir Bell ran 16 times for 156 yards for the Sycamores.

Brienneisen was 18 of 24 for 249 yards and two touchdowns for Quincy.
