Tennessee Tech beats Austin Peay 34-21

Oct 10, 2010 - 1:01 AM CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Jocques Crawford scored two touchdowns and Tennessee Tech held off Austin Peay in a 34-21 win on Saturday night.

The Golden Eagles (2-4, 1-2 Ohio Valley Conference) jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first half. Tre Lamb connected with Tim Benford on a 42-yard score, Crawford had a 2-yard touchdown run and Zack Ziegler added a 17-yard rushing score on his only carry.

Crawford led Tennessee Tech with 70 yards rushing on 16 carries. Benford had three catches for 85 yards.

Lamb, who completed 11 of 17 passes, threw for 162 yards and no interceptions for the Golden Eagles. The quarterback also ran for 59 yards on 17 carries.

Jake Ryan had touchdowns throws of 5 and 8 yards for the Governors (3-2, 1-1), cutting Tennessee Tech's lead to 21-14. But the Golden Eagles were able to hold on after Matthew Barker made field goals from 46 and 30 yards.
