Wofford rallies to beat Georgia Southern 33-31

Oct 10, 2010 - 2:24 AM STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) -- Eric Breitenstein scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns, the second with 5:52 left, as Wofford rallied to beat Georgia Southern 33-31 on Saturday night.

The Terriers (4-1, 2-0 Southern Conference) jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead before Georgia Southern managed a safety, a field goal and a 2-yard touchdown by Jaybo Shaw to make it 14-12 at the half.

Georgia Southern (3-2, 1-1) took its only lead of the night, 31-27, with 10:15 left in the fourth quarter on a 78-yard scoring run by sophomore Darreion Robinson, who finished with 116 yards on seven carries.

However, Wofford, which rolled up 302 yards rushing, answered that burst with a time-consuming 67-yard drive that ended with Breitenstein's 5-yard score.

The Terriers then stopped Georgia Southern on its next two possessions, sacking Shaw on fourth down at midfield with less than a minute to play.
