Northern Iowa slips past South Dakota 19-14

Oct 17, 2010 - 12:28 AM VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) -- Tirrell Rennie threw for 265 yards and ran for a touchdown to lead Northern Iowa past South Dakota 19-14 on Saturday.

Rennie, who was 18-of-26 in the air, ran for 46 yards in the game. His 3-yard run with 12:26 remaining gave Northern Iowa a 16-7 lead. Billy Hallgren kicked his fourth field goal, a 31-yarder, with 4:26 to go to complete the scoring for the Panthers (3-3) in the nonconference game.

Dante Warren threw a pair of touchdown passes to Will Powell for the Coyotes (3-4), but the second one, a 38-yarder, came with just 4 seconds to play in the game. Warren finished 13-of-27 with 189 yards and an interception for South Dakota, which has lost three of its last four.
