Morgan State overcomes Delaware State 34-24

Oct 23, 2010 - 9:09 PM BALTIMORE (AP) -- Delonte Williams found Tyrone Hendrix with a 34-yard touchdown pass with 20 seconds left to give Morgan State the lead for good in a 34-24 victory over Delaware State on Saturday.

Williams' second touchdown pass of the game capped an eight-play, 85-yard drive for the Bears (4-3, 3-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, who recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff for a final touchdown.

Williams completed 11 of 18 passes for 167 yards but was intercepted three times, including one in the end zone by Darrell Brown that lifted the Hornets (1-6, 1-3) into a 21-21 tie at the start of the fourth quarter. Delaware State took a 24-21 lead on Mario Diaz-Aviles' 32-yard field goal.

Morgan State led 21-7 after Chris Flowers' 73-yard kickoff return to start the second half, but Delaware State made it 21-14 on a 48-yard touchdown run by Jaashawn Jones, who carried 22 times for 114 yards.
