Kent State stops Bowling Green in 30-6 win

Oct 23, 2010 - 11:15 PM BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) -- Tyshon Goode caught two touchdown passes and Kent State held Bowling Green to minus-10 yards rushing in a 30-6 win on Saturday.

The Golden Flashes (3-4, 2-2 Mid-American Conference) had 13 tackles for a loss of 58 yards while holding the Falcons (1-7, 0-4) to 135 yards of offense.

After Kent State took a 3-0 lead, Bowling Green scored on a 75-yard kickoff return by Jerry Gates to go up 6-3.

However, the Golden Flashes would score the next 27 points, starting with a 1-yard TD run by Spencer Keith late in the first quarter.

Keith had 223 yards and two touchdowns on 26-for-32 passing. Goode was his favorite target with 12 catches on 158 yards. Freddy Cortez was 3-for-4, kicking field goals of 29, 32 and 30 yards for Kent State.

Matt Schilz was 18-for-35 with two interceptions and 118 yards for the Falcons.
