Georgia St. 34, South Alabama 39

Oct 31, 2010 - 1:21 AM MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- C.J. Bennett threw three touchdown passes to help South Alabama defeat Georgia State 39-34 on Saturday.

The Jaguars (8-0) trailed 14-6 before Bennett's touchdowns sparked 24 South Alabama second-quarter points. Bryant Lavender caught a 40-yard pass to pull South Alabama within one, and Kelvin Helms caught a 9-yard TD pass for the Jaguars' first lead of the game, 20-14 with 6:57 left in the second quarter.

Jereme Jones' 3-yard TD catch and field goals of 35 and 28 yards by Lawson McGlon rounded out South Alabma's scoring streak.

The Jaguars rushed for 293 yards with 175 coming on 31 carries by Kendall Houston.

Bennett had 181 yards on 12 of 24 passes and McGlon made 4 of 5 field goals.

Drew Little had two touchdowns and 214 yards on 20-for-34 passing for the Panthers (5-4), who lost their second straight road game after a four-game winning streak.
