QB Robinson back with Chattanooga

Sep 6, 2012 - 5:42 PM Chattanooga, TN (Sports Network) - Two days after quitting the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team, sophomore quarterback Terrell Robinson rejoined the Mocs on Thursday.

Robinson was the 2011 Southern Conference Freshman of the Year.

"He just came in this morning and said he wanted to be back a part of the team," Mocs coach Russ Huesman told the Times Free Press newspaper. "He said he felt like he let the team down, let the players down and was very humble. He wants to be a part of it and will do everything he can to help this team win."

Robinson held the starting quarterback's role over redshirt freshman Jacob Huesman, the coach's son, for last Saturday's season-opening loss at South Florida, but the two split playing time.

Russ Huesman said Robinson will not be on the travel squad for Saturday's game at Jacksonville State. Jacob Huesman will make his first start.

As a redshirt freshman last season, Robinson threw for six touchdowns and rushed for five in five games, including three starts. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound native of Pittsburg, Tenn., rushed for 417 yards and threw for 336 yards.
