Berry gets new contract at Lousiana-Monroe

Jan 12, 2013 - 2:14 AM Monroe, LA (Sports Network) - The University of Louisiana-Monroe has given head football coach Todd Berry a new four-year contract.

The deal comes after Berry engineered the Warhawks a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) era best eight wins and the program's first bowl berth since joining the FBS.

Berry guided the Warhawks to an 8-5 overall record and a second place finish in the Sun Belt Conference at 6-2.

"I am excited about the opportunity to continue my coaching career at ULM," said Berry. "I am appreciative of the university's efforts to make our program better and we are doing our part as we continue to strive to be strong both on and off the field."

Included in the eight wins was a shocking overtime triumph over nationally- ranked Arkansas in the season-opener. The Warhawks lost to Ohio University in the Independence Bowl.
