Hundley, UCLA top USC

Dec 1, 2013 - 8:00 AM Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - UCLA beat USC at the Coliseum for the first time since 1997.

Brett Hundley carried the ball 13 times for 80 yards and two touchdowns in the 22nd-ranked Bruins' 35-14 victory over the 23rd-ranked Trojans.

Hundley connected on 18-of-27 passes for 208 yards for UCLA (9-3, 6-3 Pac-12), which won four of five to end the regular season.

"A lot of players made it happen tonight," Hundley said. "Our offensive line did a great job and our receivers balled out. They got open all game long and I just dished it to them."

Cody Kessler completed 17-of-28 passes for 174 yards and one touchdown for USC (9-4, 6-3), which had won five straight in its revitalized season under interim coach Ed Orgeron.

"Obviously a disappointing performance by the team," Orgeron said. "I think it was the worst performance we have had since we have started back together. We started off very slow, weren't able to run or pass the ball. We couldn't stop Hundley on the quarterback draw. We didn't play well on special teams. No excuses. We just didn't play well"

The Bruins scored the first points of the game with 4:09 left in the first quarter. Jordon James' 13-yard catch set up Myles Jack's 3-yard rushing touchdown.

UCLA put seven more points on the board early in the second stanza. Paul Perkins and Devin Lucien caught passes of 32 and 17 yards, respectively, to move the ball to the 1-yard line. Defensive end Eddie Vanderdoes rumbled into the end zone to make it 14-0.

The Trojans responded with an 11-play, 80-yard scoring drive that Javorius Allen capped with an 11-yard TD run.

The Bruins went for it on 4th-and-1 from the USC 12-yard line, but Jack was stopped for a loss.

Hundley completed five straight passes on the Bruins' first possession of the second half. Hundley capped the drive with a 12-yard TD run.

The Trojans responded with a touchdown of their own, as Xavier Grimble caught a 22-yard TD pass.

UCLA needed just eight plays to score another touchdown. Hundley recorded a 13-yard run on 3rd-and-3 to keep the drive alive. He capped the march with a 5-yard TD run, making it 28-14 with 3:18 left in the third.

USC was driving early in the fourth when Allen fumbled at the UCLA 20-yard line.

Perkins' 8-yard rushing touchdown with 3:50 remaining accounted for the final margin.
