Wyoming reportedly to name Bohl football coach

Dec 8, 2013 - 10:01 PM Fargo, ND (SportsNetwork.com) - Two-time FCS championship-winning coach Craig Bohl of North Dakota State will be named Wyoming's new head football coach on Sunday.

CBS Sports first reported Saturday the 55-year-old Bohl will replace Dave Christensen, who was 27-34 in five seasons at Wyoming.

North Dakota State held a team meeting Sunday morning as the Bison worked on their plans to move forward. Bohl's hiring at Wyoming could mean he will no longer be on the Bison sideline when they host Coastal Carolina in the national quarterfinals next Saturday.

Wyoming had a news confwerence planned for 7 p.m. ET Sunday.

Footballscoop.com reported that Bohl has offered positions at Wyoming to five of his NDSU assistants, offensive coordinator Brent Vigen, defensive coordinator Chris Klieman, recruiting coordinator/receivers coach Kenni Burns, linebackers coach Steve Stanard and offensive line coach Scott Fuchs.

Bohl is 101-32 in 11 seasons at North Dakota State, including 12-0 this season. The Bison posted a 38-7 second-round playoff win over Furman on Saturday as they continued toward their goal of three straight national titles.

Bohl reportedly made around $350,000, including bonuses, last year, and his hiring at Wyoming could raise him to upwards of four times that level.

Bohl was the 2012 Eddie Robinson Award winner as the FCS coach of the year. This season, he was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference coach of the year for the third straight year.
