Brohm, Louisville look to keep rolling

Sep 6, 2007 - 10:25 AM Middle Tennessee (0-1) at No. 8 Louisville (1-0) 7:00 pm EDT

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (Ticker) -- Brian Brohm most likely is not too concerned by Middle Tennessee's defense.

After a stellar opening game, Brohm leads eighth-ranked Louisville into Thursday night's matchup with the Blue Raiders.

Last Thursday, Brohm - a possible No. 1 overall pick in next year's NFL draft - threw for 375 yards and four touchdowns as the Cardinals began their season with a 73-10 blitzing of Football Championship Subdivision squad Murray State.

Harry Douglas had five catches for 151 yards and two TDs for Louisville, which was playing its first game under new coach Steve Kragthorpe, who took over the program when Bobby Petrino took the Atlanta Falcons job.

Middle Tennessee opened its campaign with a 27-14 loss at Sun Belt Conference foe Florida Atlantic on Saturday.

Joe Craddock passed for 199 yards and a score but was intercepted twice for the Blue Raiders, who fell behind 24-0 early in the fourth quarter before producing a pair of late touchdowns.

The teams also met last year, with Louisville posting a comfortable 44-17 victory in Nashville behind backup quarterback Hunter Cantwell, who was filling in for the injured Brohm.
