West Virginia football player gets jail for hotel incident

(AP) A West Virginia football player has been sentenced to five days in jail after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct and indecent exposure at an Arizona hotel.Scottsdale police say 19-year-old Daejuan Funderburk was arrested on New Year's Day at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch.
The redshirt freshman safety was with the Mountaineers for the Jan. 2 Cactus Bowl game in Phoenix against Arizona State, which West Virginia won 43-42.
Police say Funderburk was accused of exposing himself to a member of the hotel's cleaning crew and inappropriately touching the woman.
He was arrested on suspicion of assault, disorderly conduct, indecent exposure and public sexual indecency.
A university spokesman said Wednesday that Funderburk is no longer on the football team and declined further comment.
